Plan Your Week, and Share it with Others: Select places that you want to visit, mark them on a private map that you can email to friends. Get driving directions from one event to another.

Share Your Knowledge with Others: Recommend places of interest near your favorite track for new visitors.

MapRaceWeek combines our love of all things geek, and outdoor sports.  Having gotten lost more than once around Bristol, I realized that there had to be a better way, and along came Google Maps, and then Google Earth. Google Earth is a fantastic tool to find places around the tracks, and to catalog our favorite places.   However the mapping tools offered generic recommendations, not really specific suggestions tailored to the racing community.  Where are the driver signings? Where are the best places to camp, and what is the best barbecue joint near Lowes Motor Speedway?

MapRaceWeek is our attempt to catalog these places, as well as to highlight the many driver and sponsor events around the races. Much of the fun of race week is in the events leading up to the race.  We will add some links for hotels, restaurants and events that we know of, but MapRaceWeek is a community where your input and thoughts are the most important voices.

If you are a business person who has a business that serves race fans (a restaurant, campground, souvenir shop, ticket exchange, rental home, ice cream shop, grocery store, hotel, or boarding house) and want to add a place on the map - please add away, its free.

If you are an avid race fan, and want to share a story about great service at a restaurant, or a fantastic deal at a hotel, less us know (rate the place, and add your comments to the message board).

I encourage you to look around the site, and to get involved in helping catalog the events and places that make each race venue special. From the history of Darlington, to the aura of Daytona, my hope is that MapRaceWeek is helpful in your travels.

Feel free to drop me a line at Richard {@} MapRaceWeek.com if you have suggestions, complaints or kudo's.
